Dealer: Grainger Project: Youth Correctional Center - Northern CA
Showing Off At Trade Shows
Trade Shows are an excellent medium for customers, dealers, and manufacturers to make lifelong connections with each other and the products. Grainger hosts an annual show in Orlando, FL that typically brings in over 10,000 people. Strong Hold was very happy to be a part of this event, displaying our many product combinations and customizations. This opportunity not only let Grainger employees see, touch and feel our product, they were also able to show us off to their customers.
You Had Me At "12-Gauge"
Joe Long, a USAF Veteran and longtime Grainger employee out of Stockton, CA was attending the show in search of a solution to a very unique problem. He knew the moment he walked into our booth that we were "the one." Prior to the show, Northern California Youth Correctional Center contacted Joe, looking for multiple workstations that could literally "take a beating" and remain intact. They desired very heavy-duty material that could be bolted to the floor and could withstand unruly inmates that may attempt to damage the units. Not only did the units need to be strong and secure, they needed to last. Strong Hold did not even bat an eye at his requests, because this is what we do, and immediately started working with Joe on his design.
Crazy Custom Capabilities
Together, Joe and the Strong Hold Sales Team came up with a 3-piece, U-shaped unit that is 9 feet wide and over 7 feet deep. Looking at the outside of the unit, it is seamless and sleek. The inside is loaded with secure cabinet space, shelving that can hold up to 1,200 lbs., and drawers with 400 lb. capacities. We topped the workstations with 7-gauge steel plate tops, then a 1.5-inch-thick maple top for a beautiful, long-lasting, finish.
The Word Around Town
As everyone knows, Grainger is a large company and sells many different products from many different manufacturers. With that being said, they know and only partner with those who make the best of the best. If our 12-gauge steel units can hold up in correctional facilities, they can withstand almost anything, including heavy-duty manufacturing. We don't normally like to boast but we are definitely the "Cadillac" of the industrial storage industry.
